A positive initial engagement in service can be the catalyst for a life of service. We will provide at least one opportunity for 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance (September), Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service (January), and Global Volunteer Day/Global Youth Service Month (April/May) each year. Learn and Serve Tampa, Inc. has accepted the challenge of sponsoring a community volunteer opportunity on or around each day of service.   Volunteer opportunities and events will be posted here as plans develop or plan your own using the resources provided.

Global Volunteer Month, National Volunteer Week, and Global Youth Service Day/Month all collide during April and May.  Through in Good Deed Day, Earth Day, and Arbor Day, and there is much opportunity for service. Plans for our event will begin in early February.

September 11th was designated as a day of service and remembrance shortly after terrorists changed our world. Our goal is to educate youth, remember those who have died, and to create service reflective of the national unity we saw on September 12 and beyond.

Martin Luther King, Jr. advocated for and lived a life of service. We aim to give youth an opportunity to honor him by taking "a day on, not a day off." Our event is typically the Saturday before the holiday since there is a popular parade in downtown Tampa on the third Monday in January.
